From time to time all users of Department of Immigration and Citizenship online systems will have complaints. However, as a daily user of DIAC systems I am glad to say that we are fans. Some of the new systems have not been good additions to date, but the older systems including the 457 visa lodgment portal are stable, no-frills yet straight-forward software that is a pleasure to use.
DIAC are currently working through the initial phases of introducing a new system due for go-live in November this year (2013). This system has been coined as the ‘Online Account’, and will be an integration point for a number of systems and users. Migration Agents, direct customers of the DIAC and DIAC staff themselves will all potentially go here to communicate with each other, manage paper and online applications, keep up to date on relevant and current key information, etc.
Global Enterprises Group will have the privilege of attending a DIAC workshop Wednesday 17th April at the Department in Perth as part of a stakeholder engagement delegation. Our MD James Clarke will be joining with MIA and other industry professionals in giving ideas for the new system. If you have any specific ideas you would like raised with the DIAC for this new system, please let us know!
