Here are some excerpts from key speakers at the ACBC Chinese New Year dinner on the 12th Feb.
There were some great points from a number of key speakers, kind words between opposite sides of local parliament and good all-round Chinese New Year celebrations (except for fireworks!).
Some notes from speakers below:
The first 50% urbanization of China was achieved in 2012. The plan is for 75% in 50 years time. The difference of 50% – 75% of urbanization of the US achieved in 1950’s showed us that this 25% increase period was the most consuming of Iron & Steel in its history. If anything to go by, trade between the two nations of Aus & China should be at its strongest over the next 50 yrs. Nev Power FMG
Australia developed on the sheep’s back. Push towards modernizing China, Chinese investment can be used to breathe life into Australian remote communities. Frank Tudor – national president ACBC
The Aus-Sino relationship seems to have come full circle since I started dealing with agriculture in China in the 1970’s to now beginning the conversation again. Des Williams, Honorary Life Member of the ACBC
